Fabian Schar Injuries

'I don't know too much, I think it's an ankle problem. Fingers crossed, our thoughts are with him. I think he is at the hospital now.' 'Hopefully, not too bad, or maybe not as bad as it initially looked. He's got an injury there, but no break - it is ligament damage. He is seeing a specialist in the coming days to get a definitive answer, but maybe more positive than the initial assessment.' 'At the moment we're confident that Fabian will be back before the end of the season, that's the guidelines we've been given. Let's see.' 'He had a successful surgery yesterday, which is great news. Everything went according to plan. I think it's difficult to give a definitive [timeline], but around three months out will be the diagnosis we'll work towards. If it's any quicker, then great, but we need to give Fabian time to recover.' 'We anticipate Lewis (Miley) will be back after the break, same with Bruno (Guimaraes) and Fab (Schar).' 'He's been working hard. He was in the Middle East training, of course, that was difficult for him. But he's back, doing well. I think he's feeling good about his body [and] his rehab. We've got a good period of training time with him, so the Palace game, I'm sure, will be a target, whether that's realistic or not, let's wait and see.'

'With Schar, I’ve not really seen him and had any confirmation on how he is...' 'I was in the hands of the doctors at that moment [when he stayed on the pitch]. The only message I got was that he was OK to continue. I don't really know anything beyond that, or how he is now. I've not had the chance to speak to anybody yet, so we'll have to see how he is.'
